pybsm.metrics.functional.plot_common_MTFs(*, metrics: Metrics, orientation_angle: float = 0.0) → int

Generates a plot of common MTF components.

Generates a plot of common MTF components: aperture, turbulence, detector, jitter, drift, wavefront, image processing, system. The Nyquist frequency is annotated on the plot with a black arrow. Spatial frequencies are converted to image plane units (cycles/mm).

Parameters:

• metrics – the object output of (for instance) pybsm.metrics.functional.niirs or equivalent

• orientation_angle – angle to slice the MTF (radians). A 0 radian slice is along the u axis. The angle rotates counterclockwise. Angle pi/2 is along the v axis. The default value is 0 radians.

Returns:

a plot
